On 20 March 2010 Rovers earned their first ever away win against Yeovil Town, when they beat the Somerset club 3–0 in a League One match at Huish Park. The result also tied the record for the Pirates' biggest ever win against the Glovers, after Rovers' 3–0 win at the Memorial Stadium thirteen months earlier.
In this match both sides featured goalkeepers on loan from Reading, and it was Yeovil keeper Alex McCarthy who made the headlines early on, when after holding possession for too long he allowed Jo Kuffour to close him down and his attempted clearance cannoned off the striker and into the net for the first goal. Further goals were added by Paul Heffernan and Kuffour again before the break, giving Rovers a 3–0 lead. The second half saw the Gas dominate in a way they had failed to do in the first, and although they didn't add to their lead they never looked like conceding.
