Bristol Rovers and Weymouth have met just twice in competition proper, both times in the FA Cup and both times in Bristol. In addition to these two games, the sides met in an FA Cup fourth-round qualifying match which ended 15-1 to Rovers, and is the Pirates' biggest ever win in a competitive match. The two sides met again the following season in the third qualifying round of the same competition. This time Rovers recorded a relatively modest 5-0 victory.
