Swansea City (formerly known as Swansea Town) are a Welsh team playing in the English league structure. Bristol Rovers and Swansea have met 80 times, with the better record belonging to Rovers: 32 wins to Swansea's 25. The first Football League meeting between the teams was on Christmas day, 1920 at Eastville when both teams were in the newly-created Football League Division Three, and ended in a 2-1 victory for Swansea Town, as they were then called. The second meeting came just two days later on 27 December, when the result was a 2-2 draw.
