Scott Bevan was one of the fifteen players who joined Rovers in the summer of 2011 as part of new manager Paul Buckle's overhaul of the playing staff. He had played under Buckle for three years at Torquay United, and when he was appointed as Rovers' boss Bevan followed shortly afterwards.

He was one of ten players to make their full debuts for The Pirates in the first game of the 2011–12 season, a 3–2 victory over AFC Wimbledon, and was the first choice 'keeper for the majority of his first season in Bristol. He lost his place in the starting eleven briefly near the middle of the season when he was forced to miss a number of games due to injury. Michael Poke was brought in on loan to stand in for him and impressed enough to retain his place in the lineup when Bevan returned to full fitness. This was a temporary blip however and Bevan was soon restored to the team when Poke suffered an injury of his own, ruling him out of contention for the starting spot.

Career[]

Scott began his career at Southampton, his home town club, but after loan spells with Ayr United, Stoke City, Woking, Huddersfield Town, Woking (again) and Wycombe Wanderers he was released without having made a single first team appearance.

He signed for Wimbledon in March 2004, shortly before they relocated and were renamed Milton Keynes Dons, but after having made only 17 league appearances in just over a year he was loaned out again, this time in a three-month deal to Conference side Tamworth in October 2005. He then had a season and a half with Kidderminster Harriers and a brief stint with Shrewsbury Town in 2008 before joining Torquay United, initially on loan, shortly after the start of the 2008–09 season.
