Ryan Paddock is a defender who has come through the Rovers' youth system at the Bristol Academy of Sport. He was one of seven players promoted to the first team squad in the 2007 off-season, along with Charlie Clough, Tom Godsell, Matt Groves, Alex Kite, Adam Mahdi and Charlie Reece.
He was released from his contract at the end of the 2007-08 season, along with Tom Godsell, Chris Carruthers and Sammy Igoe, and spent a period on trial with Bishop's Cleeve during the summer of 2008 before joining Weston-super-Mare.
Ryan began playing youth football with Churchdown Panthers in Gloucestershire, where he was scouted by the Southampton academy. After a year with the south coast setup he moved to the Aston Villa academy, and later on moved again into the Rovers setup at the Bristol Academy of Sport. In the summer of 2007 he was awarded his first professional contract by Rovers, but failed to make any appearances during his first season and was released in the summer of 2008.
Following his release by The Pirates he signed for Weston-super-Mare, but made just ten league appearances for them before being loaned to Bishop's Cleeve, the club he spent a trial period with during the pre-season, before signing permanently in the summer of 2009. He left Bishop's Cleeve in 2011, joining Cheltenham Saracens in November 2011. He was also a member of a successful Sunday league side at this time, Ye Olde Black Bear won a number of trophies during the 2010–11 season.
Away from playing, Ryan is on the staff of Atlas Soccer Coaching, a company active in the Hereford and Worcester region.
