Pedro Miguel Matias was a Spanish midfielder who had a brief spell as a non-contract player at Rovers in 2004. He was released by his former club Walsall at the end of the 2003-04 season, and had been unable to find a new club until he joined the Pirates on 29 October 2004. He spent less than a month at the Memorial Stadium, and was never selected in the squad for a first team fixture, leaving the club just three weeks after arriving.

CareerEdit

Pedro began his footballing career with one of the biggest clubs in the world, Real Madrid, but after failing to make a breakthrough there he joined Segunda División side CD Logroñés. In 1998 Matias moved to England to join Macclesfield Town on a free transfer and played 22 league games and one FA Cup match for the Silkmen, scoring twice. He left the club at the end of the 1998-99 season and joined Tranmere Rovers on a month-to-month contract, and stayed there until October 1999, when he secured himself a longer term deal with Walsall. He stayed with Walsall for almost five years, making 141 league appearances and scoring 24 goals for them and also having a loan spell at Blackpool, before he again found himself without a club in 2004 until he joined Bristol Rovers.

After leaving Rovers he joined Kidderminster Harriers, again on non-contract terms, and spent just over a month at Aggborough, before leaving to head home to Spain, citing 'personal reasons' for his departure.
