Ollie Barnes is a defender who Rovers signed after he was released by Bristol City in 2006. He did not make any appearances for the Rovers first team, and was released at the end of his first season with the club.

Career[]

Ollie came through the Bristol City youth system, and after being released by the Robins signed a one-year contract with Rovers. During his spell at the Memorial Stadium he was sent out on loan to Gloucester City, where he played 5 game and scored a goal. His performances at Meadow Park weren't enough to earn him a place in the Rovers team however, and he was released at the end of the 2006-07 season, whereupon he joined Salisbury City. He only played in five league games and one FA Trophy match for Salisbury before leaving the club after a year to join Worcester City in 2008.

In 2009 he joined Weymouth on non-contract terms, but after failing to earn a deal with them he signed for Dorchester Town on 5 September that year. He re-joined Gloucester City in 2010, and despite becoming a minor internet sensation with a spectacular goal against Harrogate Town (see video below), he was released in November that year, finishing the season with Paulton Rovers.

He spent the 2011–12 season with Bridgwater Town, picking up the club's best new player award, before signing for Yate Town in time for the 2012–13 campaign.
