Michael started his career as a trainee at Luton Town before earning himself a pro contract with the club. While at Luton he had a number of loan spells with other clubs, at Walsall, Rovers, Torquay United and Brentford. In the summer of 2007 he was released by Luton, and joined Barnet on a free transfer.
