Marcus Andreasson is a tall pacey Defender who played just 14 league games for Rovers in two different spells at the club. He first joined in the club in the summer of 1998, on his 20th Birthday. His first spell was spent mostly on the sidelines injured, making just five apperances (four in the 98/99 and one in the 99/00 season). After a brief spell with Swedish club Kalmar FF he returned to Rovers just six months later but was again hampered by injury, being limited to a further nine apperances. He left the club a second time in July 2001 after expressing his desire to be nearer his family.

Despite being born in Liberia, Andreasson is registered as a Swedish player due to his citizenship. He has never played for the Swedish national side, and is the only Rovers player to have worn two different squad numbers in the same season, having worn numbers 15 and 36 during the 1999–00 season.

Career[]

Before Rovers, Andreasson played for Swedish side Östers IF. In between his Rovers spells, he played for another Swedish side, Kalmar FF. After Rovers, Andreasson moved to Norway to play for Bryne FK until 2003, and joined Molde FK for the 2004 season where he has played until 2011.

He scored in his Tippeliga debut for Molde, against Lyn, and his only other goal in the 2004 campaign came against the same opposition three months later. In all he spent seven years with Molde, finally moving away after the 2010 season when he moved to Belgium to join Lierse SK, making a single appearance for them during the 2010–11 season in a 3–0 defeat to Cercle Brugge in January 2011.

In 2012, despite receiving offers from a number of clubs at a higher level, Marcus opted to return to the club where he began in career, deciding that he wanted to end his playing days with Kosta IF in Division Six, the eighth level of the Swedish football league system. Division Six is divided into regional groups, with Kosta competing in the Småland region. Marcus announced his intention to play a selection of games for Kosta, including a jubilee match on 25 August 2012 to mark the club's centenary year, commuting from his home in Molde, Norway.
