Louie Soares is a Barbados international midfielder who played a single game for Rovers at the end of the 2004-05 season. He was signed from Reading after the Pirates were given special dispensation to sign players after the transfer deadline.

His only appearance for Rovers was in a 1-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on 7 May 2005, coming on as an 89th minute substitute for Ryan Williams, meaning the Soares's Rovers playing career lasted for just one minute.

Career[]

Soares started his footballing career with Reading, but never made any first team appearances for the Royals. He was sent out on loan to Tamworth during the 2004-05 season, and was signed on a short-term contract by Rovers at the end of that campaign. Following his release from Rovers in the summer he signed a one-year deal with Barnet, and played in just under half of their games during the 2005-06 season. In the summer of 2006 he signed for Aldershot Town, where he stayed for four years, making 147 league appearances and scoring 17 goals, before spending a single season with League Two side Southend United.

He joined Conference National side Hayes & Yeading United in 2011, and impressive scoring record of 15 goals in 31 league games saw him snapped up by Grimsby Town at the end of the January 2012 transfer window. After making eleven league appearances for the Mariners in the second half of the 2011–12 season, he played a further four games at the beginning of the following campaign, before being loaned out to Ebbsfleet United at the end of September 2012 for two months. He failed to make any further appearances for Grimsby in the two months after returning from Ebbsfleet, and was loaned out again, this time to Alfreton Town until the end of the season.
