Leon Bell was a midfielder who spent one month as a Rovers player at the beginning of the 2003-04 season without making any first team appearances. He initially had a trial at Rovers in December 2002, prior to joining Stevenage Borough, and had a second trial in the 2003 pre-season. His second trial was successful enough to earn him a short-term contract with Rovers, but he was released upon its expiry a month later. After leaving Rovers he joined Boreham Wood.

Leon's first senior club was Barnet, where he turned professional in 1999. He played in exactly fifty league games for Barnet before joining Stevenage Borough in 2002. Between August and December 2003 he had spells with five different clubs – Bristol Rovers, Boreham Wood, Cambridge City, Waltham Forest and Harlow Town.
