Llanelli and Bristol Rovers have met three times in competitive matches, all in the FA Cup and all in the 1950-51 season. That season saw Rovers achieve their joint best ever run in the cup, reaching the quarter-finals, and Llanelli (at the time spelled Llanelly) provided the first round opposition. Although a non-league team, the Reds proved to be tough opponents, taking Rovers to a second replay at Cardiff City's Ninian Park after 1-1 draws at Eastville and Stebonheath Park. That Llanelli team included future Scotland manager Jock Stein.

Friendlies[]

Llanelli provided pre-season opposition for Rovers in preparation for the 2008-09 season. A generally young and inexperienced side, which also featured senior player Craig Hinton lost 2-0 to the reds. A very wet pitch caused the ball to hold up, making passing difficult and Llanelli, who had already played in the UEFA Cup before the game, dealt with the conditions better to take the win.
