Dominic Blizzard is a midfielder who joined Rovers in the summer of 2009 as a free agent, having left Stockport County on expiry of his contract shortly before.

Although a regular in the Rovers' first team throughout his first season with the club, he fell out of favour in his second year and was due to spend the last two months of the season on loan at Port Vale. The combination of the sacking of Valiants' manager Jim Gannon and an injury suffered on his debut however meant that the deal was cut short, and he was sent back to Bristol after just three days, having only played a single game.

He left The Pirates in the summer of 2011 when he agreed with the club to terminate his contract with a year still to run on it.

Career[]

Dominic started out as a youth team player with Watford, before progressing through to the pro ranks at the club. He made 22 league starts and came off the bench seven times for the Hornets, scoring twice. He managed to score a goal just 16 minutes into his debut for the club, netting a consolation for Watford in the 78th minute, having been brought on as a substitute for Micah Hyde in the 62nd minute in a 2–1 defeat to Norwich City. During the latter part of his time at Vicarage Road he had loan spells at Stockport County and Milton Keynes Dons, and in the summer of 2007 he signed for MK. His contract with the Dons was canceled by mutual consent before the start of the 2007–08 season however, and he joined the other club to loan him during the previous campaign, Stockport County.

Blizzard stayed with the Hatters for two years, and made 52 league starts and six substitute appearances in that time, finding the back of the net on four occasions. He left to join Rovers in 2009 on a 'Bosman' free transfer on expiry of his contract, but after being little more than a fringe player in 2010–11 both parties agreed to terminate his contract. He joined Yeovil Town on a one-year deal in time for the start of the next season, and signed for Plymouth Argyle in 2013.
