Danny Greaves is a goalkeeper who spent three years with Rovers, from 2001 until 2004. He was signed from local side Mangotsfield United at the age of seventeen, and although he was at the Mem for three seasons he never managed to break into the first team. During his final season with the Pirates he was sent out to Clevedon Town on work experience terms, where he made seven appearances before being released by Rovers in the summer of 2004. After his release he signed for Forest Green Rovers.
Danny started out on the local non-league scene with Mangotsfield United before being picked up by Rovers in 2001. After he left Rovers in 2004 he had a brief spell at Forest Green Rovers, before moving back to Mangotsfield in November that year. After 18 months with the Cossham Street side he returned to another of his former clubs, Clevedon Town, in 2006.
He returned to Mangotsfield in 2010 for a third spell with them, but stayed for only a single season, opting to join Cirencester Town in 2011 along with teammate Neil Arndale. His stay in Cirencester was brief, and he was back in Mangotsfield yet again in September, where he stayed for the remainder of the 2011–12 season, with a brief interruption when he took a break from football due to his wife giving birth to twins.
He began the following season with Mangotsfield, but retired from playing football in early October 2012 due to his family commitments.
