Rovers' final game of the 2011–12 season ended in a 4–0 defeat at the hands of Dagenham & Redbridge. Neither side had much to play for since both were in mid-table positions, unable to reach the playoffs and safe from relegation, but it was The Daggers who were clearly the more fired up for the occasion.

Brian Woodall was the hero of the day, thanks to his hat-trick, and substitute Danny Green also contributed to the rout with his second half goal. Rovers fielded two débutants in this match, one in the starting eleven and one coming on as a second-half substitute. Goalkeeper Conor Gough, who had already signed to join Rovers in the summer, arrived at the Memorial Stadium earlier than planned on an emergency loan deal to replace Scott Bevan in goal, Bevan having had surgery on his wrist earlier in the week. Second year scholar Mitch Harding was named on the bench just days after having been told he was being given his first professional contract by The Gas and was brought on to replace Eliot Richards during the second half.

Danny Woodards was forced to leave the game in the closing stages after suffering a broken fibula in a challenge with Jake Reed.
