Chris Plummer had a brief loan spell at Rovers late in 2002, when he joined on a month's loan from Queens Park Rangers. Playing in defence, he made just two League and two FA Cup appearances for The Pirates, before returning to his parent club.

CareerEdit

Chris started out as a trainee with QPR, and made his senior debut with them in May 1996 against Nottingham Forest. In all he made 62 League appearances for QPR, eight of which were from the bench, scoring twice, and also played seven times in the FA Cup and twice in the League cup. His loan spell at Rovers came in his final season with the club that had brought him into professional football, and in the summer of 2003 he moved to Barnet on a free transfer. After playing 37 League games and scoring three goals he moved to Peterborough United, who paid £30,000 to take him to London Road in September 2004.

Peterborough would prove to be his final professional club, and after playing exactly 50 League games for them, and spending brief loan spells at Grays Athletic and Rushden & Diamonds, he retired from the game in December 2006 to begin a career in the financial services industry, later stating that he had fallen out of love with the game at this point. His retirement from football was short-lived however, and he joined non-League side Peterborough Northern Star in 2007, and two years later he was appointed as their player-manager. After three years at the helm he resigned from the position in May 2012, having failed to win promotion to the Southern League.

After leaving Peterborough, he took on the position of assistant manager of Corby Town, working under gaffer Ian Sampson until Sampson's resignation in September 2012. He was given the role of caretaker-manager before taking the job on a permanent basis later in the same month.

Record against RoversEdit

Chris played against Bristol Rovers four times during his career, all for Peterborough United. He won three of those matches and only lost to The Pirates once, and was in the lineup of the Peterborough side that beat Rovers 4–1 in the first game of the 2006–07 season, the year that saw The Gas win promotion to League One.
