Bristol Rovers and Chelsea have met 11 times in competitive matches. Chelsea have won double the amount of games as Rovers (6 to 3) and there have been 2 draws. In the first five meetings between the clubs there were no home wins, but since then every game between the two teams has resulted in a victory for the home side.

There was some controversy between the teams in 2005 when Chelsea signed Rovers youngster Scott Sinclair. The two sides did not agree a fee and a Football League Appeals Committee hearing ordered Chelsea to pay an initial £200,000 for the player, in a structured deal that could potentially rise to a total of £950,000 plus 15% of any future profit Chelsea make from the player.
