The League One match between Bristol Rovers and Colchester United at the Memorial Stadium on 27 February 2010 continued Rovers' remarkable run of never having been beaten at home by Colchester. Going into that match Colchester had drawn five and lost seven games at Rovers, and the 3–2 scoreline meant the unbeaten run was extended to thirteen games.
The game marked Dominic Blizzard's first goal in a Rovers shirt, when he gave The Pirates the lead in the 16th minute. John-Joe O'Toole equalised for Colchester just five minutes later, but second half goals from Jo Kuffour and Chris Lines, both returning to the side after having been out through injury, were enough to earn the three points for The Gas. A late consolation goal for Kayode Odejayi wasn't enough to take the win from Rovers.
Midfielder Jeff Hughes was substituted late in the game when his wife went into labour, enabling him to leave early to get to the hospital.
