Brian Cash is an Irish midfielder who had a very brief stint at Rovers at the end of 2004 and beginning of 2005, when he was at the club on a non-contract basis. His playing career with the Pirates lasted for just ten minutes, coming on as a 79th minute substitute in Rovers 3–1 win over Northampton Town on 3 January 2005, before being substituted himself after 89 minutes. He left the club the following day.
He has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at under-21 level.
Brian started out as a trainee with Nottingham Forest, and spent six years as a pro at the club, making just seven league appearances during that period. While with Forest he was twice sent out on loan, firstly to Swansea City and then to Rochdale. Following his loan to Rochdale he was released by Forest, and later signed for Bristol Rovers on non-contract terms on Christmas eve 2004. After his only game for the Pirates he moved to Ireland and joined Derry City, before moving on to Sligo Rovers midway through the 2006 season. He remained there until the end of the 2009 season, making a total of 74 league appearances and scoring three goals, before moving to St Patrick's Athletic in 2010. He spent just one year with St Pat's, and after having been released at the end of the 2010 season he was picked up by Galway United for 2011.
Due to financial difficulties, Galway were forced to release a number of players in July 2011, and Cash was one of those who were let go.
